Wishing for Seconds
If you’ve ever been a part of an online community, then you know how their “life” can be fleeting. One minute the site’s swarming with new members, the next minute there’s barely a handful people left logging in to the site. That’s why celebrating Ulayaw’s first year anniversary was really important to me. We might not have any members around to celebrate our second anniversary next year. Heck, Ulayaw might not even be here next year.
So, with hgh hopes of seeing familiar faces and taking in new ones, we celebrated Ulayaw’s First Year anniversary yesterday, February 26, 2011. Originally, we planned on just having a really nice dinner at Krocodille Grille Shangri-La Plaza to mark this significant event in the site’s life. Yet we ended up having a light dinner, downing 2 bottles of El Hombre tequila, and playing charades at the condo unit we rented in Victoria Tower in Timog. We also went to a gay bar (yes, including the guys!) – a first for many of attendees.

But the most memorable part of the whole night for me was the cake-cutting and speech part. Here’s a group of 15 people from different backgrounds, who never really knew each other a year ago, but are all here celebrating the first birthday of an erotic literary site.
At this point, I am wishing really hard that this time next year, Ulayaw would still be around to bring all 15 people together — and hopefully more — for a night of warm camaraderie and honest friendship.
