Top 5 Most Annoying Things That Pinoys Do in Jeepneys

Posted on | June 20, 2010 | 8 Comments

Riding a jeepney is an adventure itself. You never know if you’re going to meet an old friend or get an update on last night’s episode of Ruby. But there are things that people do that annoy you and ruin your morning. I did an informal survey and here’s the top five:
king of the road
  1. Passengers ignoring you when you’re handing your fare. (Come on guys! It’s not my fault that public transit is this way.
  2. Breastfeeding babies in jeepneys. (I admire mommies who breastfed kids but there’s a reason why formula milk or breast pumps are invented.)
  3. Girls who don’t have the decency to tie their hair even if it means hitting the person next to them with their hair strands. (You’re not in a TV commercial girls!)
  4. Taking a lot of space. (The minimum fare is only 7 pesos. Some people sit as if they paid 14 pesos).
  5. Passengers talking loudly. (Not everyone is interested in your life or your frenemy’s life!)

oh well..i agree for most of these…but the first one, i think is questionable..because there are people who hand you their fares as if it’s your irrevocable duty to pass it on..i think most people lack courtesy and gratitude in this situation..a little “please and thank you” won’t hurt..

personally, i ignore those who just say, “bayad.” or “bayad nga.” or “bayad nga, o.”

i think the proper way of doing it is by saying, “makikisuyo lang ho ng bayad, salamat.” that’s how i do it.
