For the last three years, I have always looked forward to Octoberfest celebrations because it gives me an excuse to get wasted every weekend. As soon as the calendar hits the 1^st of October, we’re already making plans to attend San Miguel’s first Oktoberfest event.

But this year, Oktoberfest came too early. San Miguel started the 2010 celebrations last Friday, September 10, with an Oktoberfest event in the SM Mall of Asia.  Every weekend of September, there’s going to be a San Miguel Octoberfest celebration and none in October.

I’m no stickler for schedule but celebrating Octoberfest in September doesn’t really appeal to me. It’s just too early and my guts aren’t yet conditioned to drink watered down beer in plastic cups at this month. I guess I will have to forego San Miguel Oktoberfest events this year and just look forward to attending local celebrations here in San Pedro.
