So What’s the Buzz About Banapple?
Posted on | December 5, 2011 | 3 Comments
Ayala Triangle Park is home to several enticing restaurants including Banapple. I’ve read several reviews of this restaurant and they’ve been generally good so last Friday, December 2, I chose to eat there. I was personally looking forward to sample their pies and cakes.
I should mention that I’ve been there once, several months ago (or was it last year?). We got there around lunch time so there were a lot of customers already so we thought their food must be good. Back then I only ordered their blueberry cheesecake since I already had brunch. I seriously forgot how that cake tasted but I remember that it was big slice for the price of P150. Read more

How Does Krispy Kreme Burger Taste?
Posted on | November 25, 2011 | 1 Comment
Surprisingly good!!!
That was the first thing that came into my mind after my first two bites of the Krispy Kreme Burger at the Offbeat Cafe located at7274 Malugay Street, Makati City.
Sandwiched between the two halvees of a sweet Krsipy Kreme Donut is a big, juicy beef patty that reminds me of a big meatball. On top of this patty is a thin slice of bacon and cheese and a perfectly cooked sunny side up egg. It’s served with fries sprinkled with chili powder on the side for a complete, filling meal.

The Christmas holiday period is traditionally a time for celebration, time to enjoy the festivities – festivities of lots of foods. However, the festive season often brings many detrimental health effects because of the foods that are usually prepared for the season. There are lots of factors that contribute to making Christmas a busy and potentially very stressful time of year. These include pressures of shopping, time, financial concerns and social demands, as well as fatigue, general overindulgence and lack of physical exercise.
Drink Your Way to a Starbucks Planner

One of my favorite drinks of all time is Starbucks’ Iced Peppermint Mocha. Sadly, it’s only available during the holiday season along with other Peppermint-flavored food products. It’s another one of the dozen reasons to look forward to Christmas.
Another reason is the Starbucks Planner. Loyal patrons of this coffee shop spend their Novembers and Decembers collecting stickers so they can get the next year’s planner. For 2012, here’s what those stickers are worth:
Satisfy Your PMS-Related Cravings With Soyami Soya Chips
Posted on | November 9, 2011 | 16 Comments
Guys are very lucky. Unlike their female counterparts, they do not suffer from annoying monthly menses that can be painful for some women. But more importantly, they don’t suffer from irrational cravings for something salty and sweet whenever that time of the month comes. Every month, a week or so before the menses finally come, I and my girl friends get this insane urge to munch on bags of chips, drink softdrinks, and lick chocolate off our fingers. Diet be damned.

Of Cakes and Cupcakes
Posted on | November 5, 2011 | 6 Comments
Is there anything that makes you light up like a Christmas tree whenever you see it? For some women like Carrie of Sex and the City, it’s shoes. For car aficionados, it may be ATV tires or new wheels. For me, it’s cakes. Whenever I see a cake, even the cupcakes you can buy for P10 in small town bakeries, my eyes light up and I can’t seem to help myself from trying it. That’s why I’m so thankful that in the last three months, my life’s been cakeful.
Aside from the cakes at Chocolate Kiss which I got to taste for the first time last September, here are some of the cakes — and cupcakes — that satisfied my huge tummy in the last three months.
Black Velvet from Conti’s Pastry Shop and Restaurants
Layers of dark chocolate cake filled with cream cheese and chocolate candy sprinkles. What’s not to like? Perfect with a cup of black coffee or, in our case, Buddy’s spaghetti. I love that it’s not too sweet and that it’s really moist. We refrigerated it overnight and had it for breakfast the next day at the office. Talk about starting your day right!
A small size (pictured on the right) costs P395, while the large one costs P950. Read more

The Road to My Wheatgrass Business
Posted on | October 25, 2011 | 10 Comments
My mom was diagnosed with stage IIIB breast cancer at the beginning of this year. To say that it was a sad news is an understatement. After four sessions of chemo, her doctor informed her that the cancer has metastasized to her bones and that it has progressed to stage IV. Traditional medicine, it seems, has failed and we’re now exploring alternative means of improving her condition. One of them is through drinking Wheatgrass with Honey from Easy Pha-Max (EPPI).

Chillin’ at Orange Cool Spa

I bought a voucher from Metrodeal a couple of months ago for a full body massage, hand spa, and foot spa at Orange Cool Spa in Makati Cinema Square (MCS). The original price of this package is P700 but it was only sold for P199. Such an amazing deal.
