Manila Walking Tour: Philippine Postal Office

Postman in from of the Philippine Postal Office ManilaLast June 17, my daughter and I joined a walking tour of the Philipine Postal Office with a couple of my friends. The tour was organized by a Lawrence Chan of Collector’s Connection.   This is a free tour that his group conducts monthly.

That same day, Selyong Pinoy Club was holding an auction, which a friend of mine participated.  More than 500 items were auctioned off and these include coins, paper money, books, magazines, and comic books.  Though most of the participants are Filipinos, there were also a few Indians in the crowd.

Aside from the PhilPost tour, Lawrence also conducts tour of the Metropolitan Theater, the Far Eastern University campus,  Escolta, and Binondo. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to go inside Metropolitan Theater because the management changed guards and they were not notified that Lawrence’s group has been given permission by the City Hall of Manila to conduct tours in this historical building.

Here are some photos from this Manila walking tour:

If you noticed, there was sepia photo of guy with a baby in a carrier. The woman sitting next to him is his wife. This is an American family who joined the walking tour. The guy’s cap had a pc america logo on the back.
