Jambafied! My Jamba Juice Experience
One of my favorite sitcoms is The Big Bang Theory and I’ve heard its characters mention Jamba Juice several times. Leonard, in particular, would try to bribe Sheldon with a Jamba Juice smoothie and this made me wonder if its drinks are indeed as spectacular as they seem to be. Fortunately for me, Jamba Juice opened its first Southeast Asian location in Bonifacio High Street last year, allowing me to sample their media-worthy drinks.
The first drink I tried, if I’m not mistaken, is the Strawberry Whirl. It’s flavorful, thick, and creamy as they said it would be. It does taste good but I find nothing exceptional init. I like their Peanut Butter Moo’d better, which tasted like my favorite Chocnut.
We also ordered their Steel-Cut Oatmeal. It’s your basic oatmeal topped with bananas and brown sugar. To say that it was unremarkable is me being kind. With that said, you can easily prepare something like this at home.
We also tried the Smokehouse Chicken California Flatbread. I must admit that I had high expectations of this one because it looked so appetizing. Sadly, it fell short and suffice to say that I would never order this again.
Redeeming Factor
If you’re going to go out of your way to visit Jamba Juice, make sure to bring at least a friend with you. The store has plenty of seats outside, which is perfect for bonding. You can even take a memento of your visit by having your picture taken in the store’s huge photo booth for free.
Jamba Juice is located at 7th Avenue corner 29th Street South, Bonifacio High Street, 1634 Fort Bonifacio. It’s open from 7am to 11pm on Mondays to Thursdays and 7am to 1am on Fridays to Sundays. Visit Jamba Juice Philippines in Facebook for real-time updates.
Reflection: The Jamba Juice logo reminds me of stretched flexible tubing.
