Finally, after a couple of years of seriously considering moving out and renting my own place with Gabby,  I am doing it.  You could imagine that a 27 year old single mother like me could just move out anytime she wants to, right? Well, in my case, it’s NO. Since I technically function as the head of my side of the family, holding the purse and all that since college, I had to ask the blessing of my uncles (one here and one abroad) and my aunt. Not to mention that I had to notify my brothers and sisters since the decision would greatly affect them, too.

So, by August 2010, I am expected to be moving in my own place. Now, that can be  bit tricky since I will also have to look for a smaller house for my Uncle, grandmother, and mother.  Fortunately, I found a place I liked already. I walked around the neighborhood with my good friend Edfe last Sunday night and found a place for them. It’s a one bedroom house with a pretty sizeable kitchen. It has cupboards and tiled countertop with a sink. It’s not like those Franke sinks that I see on Home Depot but it works and that’s all the matters.

You must be wondering why I focused on the kitchen. That’s because my mom cooks and bakes for a living (sometimes) so she needs the space to do just that.  Though it’s going to be awfully hot in the kitchen when she bakes. They’ve got to install an exhaust fan for that. I will be going back later this week and make a deposit. But not before I let my uncle check it out. After all, they’re going to be living in it, not me.

Meanwhile, I also found a place for me. It’s near Gabby’s school and also has one bedroom. I wish no one has taken the place yet.

I gotta run now. More about my moving thingy in later posts. Will try to get pictures, too. Ciao!
