So, I finally had my beach trip this year and this one is something that I will never forget! For various reasons. First, it was my first outing with U peeps. I was excited to go out with them since they are people who I like chatting with and I feel comfortable being alone with.
Second, Burot Beach was amazing. Though we were unprepared to spend the night in this undeveloped beach in Calatagan, Batangas, we decided to do so after seeing the beach for the first time. It was picture-perfect — clear, blue skies reflected on the water, a yacht docked not far from the shore, kids playing with sand, and people having fun.
Third, it’s probably the most relaxing trip I’ve had in a while. It’s always been the case that every outing was planned down to the last detail. True to my original idea, we sort of winged it this time. We commuted to Calatagan and bought our food and other supplies in the market. I didn’t even bring an extra change of clothes, except my swimwear.
I Love Bathrooms!!!
As much as I love Burot Beach, I was ready to go home. I missed taking a shower in a bathroom and I miss being able to use a clean toilet bowl to do my private thing in. You see, there was only one functioning bathroom in the beach and it has seen better days. I just couldn’t stand being in it with all the sachets and cigarette butts that other left. Thank goodness I didn’t take colonix the day before or I would have had a terrible time taking a dump in that place and that would have ruined the whole trip for me.
But don’t let my penchant for modern bathrooms keep you from visiting Burot Beach. You can still enjoy it just make sure that you do your thing before you leave home, or in one of the public restrooms in the town market, and don’t eat anything that would ruin your stomach.
