I Love Burot Beach!
So, I finally had my beach trip this year and this one is something that I will never forget! For various reasons. First, it was my first outing with U peeps. I was excited to go out with them since they are people who I like chatting with and I feel comfortable being alone with.
Second, Burot Beach was amazing. Though we were unprepared to spend the night in this undeveloped beach in Calatagan, Batangas, we decided to do so after seeing the beach for the first time. It was picture-perfect — clear, blue skies reflected on the water, a yacht docked not far from the shore, kids playing with sand, and people having fun.
Third, it’s probably the most relaxing trip I’ve had in a while. It’s always been the case that every outing was planned down to the last detail. True to my original idea, we sort of winged it this time. We commuted to Calatagan and bought our food and other supplies in the market. I didn’t even bring an extra change of clothes, except my swimwear.
I Love Bathrooms!!!
As much as I love Burot Beach, I was ready to go home. I missed taking a shower in a bathroom and I miss being able to use a clean toilet bowl to do my private thing in. You see, there was only one functioning bathroom in the beach and it has seen better days. I just couldn’t stand being in it with all the sachets and cigarette butts that other left. Thank goodness I didn’t take colonix the day before or I would have had a terrible time taking a dump in that place and that would have ruined the whole trip for me.
But don’t let my penchant for modern bathrooms keep you from visiting Burot Beach. You can still enjoy it just make sure that you do your thing before you leave home, or in one of the public restrooms in the town market, and don’t eat anything that would ruin your stomach.

Hi Nica, this is the best blog i’ve read about Birot Beach! Congratulations and thank you very much for sharing!
My family and relatives plan to visit the Burot Beach tomorrow but they don’t want to commute because of the kids. We want them to have a comfortable trip as much as possible. However, I’m worried about the bathroom issue. Did you notice any resort or other possible places near the Burot beach where we could use bathrooms?
Hi Gracey! Thank you for your kind comments.
Unfortunately, there are no resorts near Burot Beach. It’s basically secluded. Though I heard that there is also a nearby resort near the “parola” but that’s I think that it’s a few kilometers away.
There are public restrooms in the market but it’s a 20-30 minutes away. There is also an lodging place near the town proper. Perhaps you can rent one room and do all your showering in there because I didn’t shower at all when I went home. I just allowed myself to dry then changed into street clothes.
Thanks for the fast response, Nica. Unfortunately, my family didn’t vote for Burot because of the bathroom convenience issue for the kids and the oldies.
But my boyfriend and I decided to visit Burot within the month by commuting – just as you instructed on your “A Traveler’s Guide to Burot Beach” post. It’s really informative and in clear details.
By the way, what if we prefer day trip…is there a van in Calatagan market going back to Manila or atleast Tagaytay late in the afternoon, lets say 6pm?
And the route, is it via Aguinaldo Hi-way?
If you are going on a daytrip, then you will have to leave Burot Beach around 2:30. The last trip of vans and buses, according to locals, leaves around 4PM. Yet they start loading around 3PM so if you want to secure a seat, better arrive early.
Hi nica,
pwede ba mag commute lang going to burot?
ano ang ssakyan pag nsa calatagan proper na papuntang burot beach?
Hi Angie! From Calatagan ride a tricycle lang to Burot. Fare is is between 35 to 50 pesos each.
hi! naglolowtide po ba dun what time?
Hi Sweet Mauve, Yes. around night time. Pero you dont have to wait naman for lowtide to be able to swim kasi super babaw ng tubig
hi nica. we’ll be there this weekend…
what’s the nearest landmark to burrot beach? is it the municipal hall?
Hi Ian! There is no landmark at all. But on second thought, you know you are in Burot beach when you can see the ocean, the fishermen’s boats, and the white road. It’s really a isolated area.
hi just wanna ask about the rates there?..magkano po ba ang entrance and ung mga kubo?.. tnx
Hi Jho, the entrance per head is 60 pesos for day tour and 150 pesos for overnight. The huts are 300 and 500, depending on the size.
hi nica, we’re planning to go to burot beach this weekend. i saw some posts that the beach will be closed to public for private renovation. i just wanna ask if you have any idea if it is still open to public this coming weekend. and can we rent stove and cooking utensils there? thanks.
Hi Miller, I think it would be closed for renovation but try contacting the caretaker. My friend did and he said he was willing to accommodate them. As for renting stove and utensils, they don’t really do that. But you can borrow in case you forgot to bring a knife, etc. The best advice I can give you is to make sure you are well prepared for outdoor survival if you are going there.
hi do you have the caretaker’s number? so i can contact him. Or is it fine just to walk-in directly w/o informing them?
im going there tom hopefully the rainclouds will be gone..
P.S. hope you can reply to my post asap. THANKS!
Hi Alex, here is the number of the caretaker.
Ramon Viceral – 09156028907
Hi Nika,,,I just happen to read your reply now…we managed to get to the beach last weekend
It’s great except that the beach is now totally forsaken. I’ve also taken note of the trail from the municipal hall and posted the pics and distances on my blog.
-thanks for the reply by the way
Good to hear that Ian!
hi mam, ask ko lng mam, kung may c.r. and water source… thanks…
HI Jasper, there is one CR and meron namang water source for dishwashing and showering. Pero mahina sya. I suggest you use disposable plates and utensils.
Hi guys,
I was able to go to Burot last May. But the rain was totally pouring hard. Do you have any news if it is still open for public? I would like to experience it with some sunshine.
And yes, it’s totally forsaken, had a hard time getting changed after. But the beach looks just so good.
Hi Alex! I don’t have any idea if it is still open to the public. But you can call the caretaker and ask

We were supposed to go here THIS WEEK na for feasibility study, we made arrangements and all, unfortunately I stumbled on of your blog’s comments na dinedevelop na sya ng SMDC? Totoo po ba? And hindi na pwedeng magpa-pasok? =( Really hoping for some good news. :’( thanks. God bless.
