The country is getting nearer to having a new president and you can feel the tension brewing. As of 6:15 am, COMELEC has talled 75.88% of total votes cast, thanks to the PCOS machines. What used to take days, even weeks, of counting now took only hours. Hopefully, before the day is over we will have a new president. For now let’s see who is leading the race.
As we can see from the tally, Noynoy Aquino still leads the presidential race. In my earlier Halalan update, he was leading over Erap Estrada with roughly 3.5 million votes. Now, he has widened the gap my more than 4 millions. It looks like Noynoy Aquino will have a landslide win.
Jojo Binay is still on top of the vice-presidential race by less than a million votes from Mar Roxas. The latter still has a chance of winning with about 25% of the votes still waiting to be tallied. One thing is for sure though, it will be a close fight until the end.
Credit for the above tally goes to ABS-CBN’s Halalan 2o1o coverage.
