It’s raining men!!!!!!!!!!
No, I am not singing that Geri Haliwell song. It’s just an apt description for the Saturday night crowd at Club Coco, a.k.a. Coco Mangas, here in San Pedro, Laguna.
Why was I there in the first place? My sister had her birthday last Friday and since she was at work, we decided to drink the night away at Club Coco. It’s her first time at the Club, but I have been there several times before. She was curious about the place so that’s where we went.
We paid 100 pesos for the entrance. This came with a shot of Vodka Seven in a plastic cup! Pricey in my opinion but I guess we’re paying for the ambiance and not the drinks.
Then around midnight real fun started. A body licking contest was held and the contestants were three girls chosen from the audience. They licked a shot of grenadine off the body of men who fit their stated preferences. Two of the girls and their partners were very game and the men even took off their shirts. The 3rd contestant backed out to the dismay of the audience. That must have ruined the night for her for I didn’t see her dancing afterwards. But hey, it was a club after all. She should have loosened up and allowed herself to have fun. In addition, the guy she was paired with was her boyfriend. The other two girls got strangers for partners.
Now, comes the fun part – the dancing. The DJ played some a lot of familiar songs, mostly popular dance tunes, but there are some selections that aren’t really fit for dancing. This made for some awkward moments that drove people away from the dance floor. Then the emcee held another contest — this time booty shaking. This was followed by a very impromptu, but super fun, dance battle between the customers. They were very entertaining to watch, especially the lone girl dancer. It felt like I was in movie.
More dancing followed and this time I met and danced with a guy. He was a pretty decent dance, super fun to dance with. He asked if I had plans after and I told him I am going home with my sister. He invited me for a drink but I stayed with my sister. It’s okay since he is not from San Pedro, Laguna and I probably wouldn’t meet him again. So long buddy!
All in all, I had super, duper fun at Club Coco even if my left foot is still in elastic bandage. But knowing me, I will have fun anywhere. If you’re a San Pedro gal and you are looking for a dance or two with boys, most of which need force factor supplements to build up their young, bodies, then I suggest you try Club Coco. It’s probably the craziest place you can be during on a Saturday night in San Pedro, Laguna.
By the way, lest I forget, Happy Birthday Beng! That’s her in the photo below.
