Exploring Manila: Playing in Fort Santiago
I previously blogged about visiting Fort Santiago in Intramuros and it was mostly about our experience inside the walls of the historic fort. But there are also things that you can do without going inside the walls. You can shop for souvenirs and artworks by struglling Filipino artists. You can also serve as unwitting model for members of the Philippine Photographers Association who are lurking in the area. Or, you can have a picnic and have your merry way in the playground just like we did.
Here’s a picture of me and Gabby in the seesaw.
Here’s a picture of Gabby swining herself in the bar.
Personally, I wouldn’t mind just spending a couple of hours picnicking in the entrance of the fort after you have been inside the walls. After that I suggest you take the one-hour Calesa Tour in Intramuros, Manila. It costs Php250 with tour guides but if you feel like haggling, you can get this ride for 5o pesos less than the original price. Let the chatty calesa drivers be your guide in some of the historic spots on Manila.
