I am not one of those of people blessed with a flawless skin nor a flawless face. To get me looking like I did in the picture below, Bambi had to put lots of foundation and concealer. But I make do with what I have and I take care of it.
Part of my regular facial care regimen is a trip to a day spa once a month for a facial. However, the last two months have been so hectic that I barely had time to squeeze in a trip to the local beauty spa for a much deserved facial pampering. But there are moments when you just need to feel good about yourself to get you through the coming days. That moment happened today after I frantically searched the school grounds for my missing daughter under the scorching heat of the midday sun. Thank the heavens I found her but my nerves were none the better after the incident. I was feeling so down that I decided to get a facial at the Flawless center in SM Muntinlupa.
Imagine how disappointed I was when I found out that the Flawless clinic had closed! Fortunately, I had my laptop with me and using the mall’s free wifi, I searched for the nearest Flawless center and called the clinic just to check if it’s still in business. It is and so I made the short commute to Festival Mall Alabang and immediately proceeded to the 3rd Floor of the mall where the Flawless center is located.
When I got there, the receptionist had me fill up a customer information sheet and asked me to wait for my name to be called. I sat down in one of the pink, square chairs they had on the small lobby and browsed the magazines. The magazine rack held three magazines and some loose pages. Two of the magazines, both Cosmopolitan, featured Bea Alonzo on the cover. That made me wonder if Bea is the clinic’s new endorser since I remember seeing Judy Ann Santos’ Flawless billboards along EDSA. The third magazine is a very old issue of Men’s Health, which got me thinking ” So the clinic get’s male customers too?”
Anyway, I wasn’t waiting more than 5 minutes when the lovely Sheila called my name ushered me into the treatment area. Always the blogger, I counted 8 beds for treatments, three attendants and one female doctor on duty. The speakers were pouring instrumental love songs into the room, no doubt to relax those who are getting facials and treatments. Lights were dim and the walls featured huge posters of Flawless endorsers Judy Ann Santos, Mark Herras, and Lorna Tolentino.
The pampering began the moment I laid down on the bed. Sheila covered me with a pink bath towel and started with the facial. I liked the feel of the foam cleanser that she used to remove the dirt from my face and the soothing feel of the steam afterwards. As always, I hated the pricking part of the facial, but the cool toner and antiseptic/anti-pimple mask that I had towards the end of the facial took away the pain caused by the pricking.
But what really made the whole Flawless experience unique is the value-added services that came with the facial. While under the steam, Sheila wrapped my hands in hot, moist pad and massaged it each hand for a minute. I also got some shoulder massage while the anti-pimple mask was drying. Those are things you don’t usually find in facial clinics.
All in all, I was satisfied with the service at Flawless. Aside from the disturbing selection of magazine, I enjoyed my first Flawless facial experience. Hopefully, I can try their body scrub and body salt glow services in the coming weeks.
