Once upon a time there was a pair of tired feet. They weren’t a pretty sight — tired and dirty with cracked heels. On their way to the marketplace, they overhead another pair talking about a kingdom where every feet is treated to a very relaxing foot spa. Pairs and pairs of feet, they heard, come out of the kingdom looking like they belong to princesses. The kingdom is called Beauty and Butter and it’s overflowing with buttercups who can turn your feet — and hands too — into works of art.
So the pair traveled two hours to get to the kingdom of Beauty and Butter in Megamall. There they were met by a gracious host who ushered them into the pastel-colored world of the salon and introduced them to a group of yellow-garbed buttercups with pastel colored headbands. One of the buttercups, Ms. Tine, was assigned to attend to them. She settled the owner of the tired pair of feet into a wide and very comfortable bed (as the chairs were called) and made sure she was comfy before she began with the ritual that will rejuvenate the pair of tired feet.
The first thing she did was soak the pair in chocolate-scented liquid soap and water for a few minutes. The smell of the foot soak, combined with the dim lights, had a relaxing effect on the owner of the tired pair of feet so she decided to put down the iPad that Ms. Tine offered for her to use, and just savor the feeling of being pampered.
Chatty Ms. Tine then scrubbed the legs and the feet with a foot scrub that’s as equally delicious smelling as the foot soak. The she proceeded to scrape dead skin cells off the bottom of the feet. The owner of this pair of tired feet actually felt a little embarrassed because there was really a lot that fell off but the charming Ms. Jing still had a smile on her face while doing it.
After 15 to 20 minutes of scrubbing, she rinsed the foot and applied a cream for cracked heel. Now, this is different. This pair of tired feet have had more than a handful of foot spas in the past two years and none, I repeat NONE, has ever applied a cream for cracked heels before. So it was exciting to see how it would turn out. After the cream was applied, each foot was wrapped in a towel for 3 minutes. Meanwhile, Ms. Tine massaged the legs with a rich lotion. The owner of the pair of tired feet was almost dozing off by this time because the lights, music, and smell are making her sleepy.
Fortunately for Ms. Jing, the owner managed to stay awake through the entire thing. (Or else, she’d have a hard time waking me up!). The owner instantly felt the difference in her feet. The bottom of her feet, including the heels, are smoother than they have ever been before and her legs felt glorious with the lotion and the massage. She was so amazed by this change that she was reluctant to don her open sandals because it would inevitably get her feet dirty. But all good things must come to an end, she had to leave the kingdom of Beauty and Butter. The owner of the rejuvenated pair of feet bid adieu to Ms. Tine of the green headband and Ms. Jing of the Front Desk and promised to return in the near future for another rejuvenating facial.
