September is a medically-challenging month for my family for three reasons. First, my mom’s undergoing aggressive chemo and is schedulee for a total body bone scan within the month. Then, my two youngest nieces, the ones I live next door with, were both confined in the hospital. The youngest, our 8-month old baby girl, was confined at San Pedro Doctors Hospital for five days due to pneumonia. She’s the one I babysit everyday so it’s really unnerving for me to see her in a dextrose and lying in a hospital bed. I’m just glad that she’s out of the hospital now.
My other niece, the 3 yr-old Toni, was in danger for dengue. At first, she only complained of headaches. We gave her Biogesic for Kids whenever she complained and not long after she would feel better. But then we noticed her fever spiking to 38 degrees at night. Again, we gave her Biogesic for Kids as she likes this better than other meds we have tried. But when her fevers came on and off for three days, my sister took her to the doctor. That’s when the doctor had her blood tested. The result: she was diagnosed with UTI and is in danger for dengue. Both diseases are causing her body temperature to rise.
According to the doctor who checked my niece, UTI, dengue, and tonsilitis are the three leading causes of fever-related cases brought to him. He advises mommies to give their kids Biogesic for Kids with Micronized Technology because it’s safe and effective for all kinds of fever. “It’s a brand you can trust,” he says. you can buy it anywhere, including Mercury Drugstores, Watsons, or local pharmacies. You can even purchase it in selected grocery stores and supermarkets. Here in San Pedro, Laguna, I can buy Biogesic tablets in my favorite sari-sari store!
