What do you wish to do in 3 minutes?
I would like to emphasize that it was the most glamorous bloggers’ event I’ve attended so far. What the organizers did to the place was simply amazing. I especially liked the walk. With its blue carpeting and white arches, it made me feel like a celebrity on my first red-carpet moment. The ushers were very attentive and friendly. The registration was better organized than the previosus parties and attendees don’t have to wait forever to get their name tags. You get them at the registration booth once you sign up; one of the ushers writes your name on sticker paper with a Pantene logo.
Taste Asia was truly dressed up. There were flatscreen displays outside, decorative lighting, and a totally glamorous background for taking pictures. We were one of the early birds and were very fortunate to have our picture take by a photographer from Kodak. I think the free pictures (they were printed at the Kodak booth inside the venue) were for the first 200 guests or so. It was a good product placement for Kodak in any case. Of course, no amount of primping can make me look as good as one usher (see photo).
Inside Taste Asia was a super sleek white couch adorned with blue and white throwpillows. My daughter, a certified couch potato, didn’t want to leave it lest someone else sit on it. There was make-up stage and a mini-salon area for those who want to try Pantene’s 3-minute Miracle Treatment.
In my opinion, Taste Asia truly outdid itself last night with its wonderful menu. The appetizers, the ever-present baked tahong and maki (I’m not a fan of Japanese food, but this was good), were passed around early and went out quickly to my dismay. Some of the notable dishes served were baked prawns, chicken ala king (my favorite!!!!), beef and brocolli, and patatim. Cocktails were also served (a first!) and I downed two pina coladas and one mexicana.
The program was well-executed and not boring at all. Emilyn, a blogger, got her 3 minutes of fame and was the first to try out Pantene’s 3-Minute Miracle treatment. For that she got herself a good-smelling hair and a nice package from Pantene. The highlight was the arrival of Judy Ann Santos who was looking uber sexy and probably feeling WOW! with so many bloggers taking photographs and videos of her (reminded me of papparazzi).
RJ Jimenez of Pinoy Dream Academy, together with the MNZ band, entertained bloggers his hit “If We Fall in Love” and covers of such love songs as “All My Life” and “Sunday Morning.” He was crooning his heart out while I was having my own Pantene 3-Minute Miracle treatment in the mini-salon. Entertainment was also given by the all-male show band (?) Ministicks.
Ushers gave away samples of Pantene’s 3-Minute Miracle treatment to the attendees. I gave mine to my sister, also a blogger, who wasn’t able to come with us to the event.
Thanks Pantene, Proceter & Gamble, SM Hypermarket, and Taste Asia for a truly glamorous event!
I’m really sad I wasn’t able to take pictures (I think my Nikon Coolpix is broken and if you guys know anyone who repairs it, please let me know). So please go to Aileen Apolo’s post-event blog post to see some pictures and for a list of other post-event posts.
