Friday the 13th has traditionally rendered many people wary of going out of the house or making any major plans for the day. Some people even have an irrational fear of the day which is referred to as friggatriskaidekaphobia. This is because of the superstitious belief that the day brings bad luck.
Yesterday, July 13, was a Friday. I only realized it after a friend posted it on his Facebook wall. I’ve never been a fan of superstitions but I do like hearing about unfortunate stories that happened to my friends. Here are some of them:
- A young friend thought it was unlucky of her to have her favorite chair (which is actually an exercise equipment) taken away by her brother.
- A guy friend sprained his leg while playing frisbee in the Sunken Garden in UP Diliman.
- A very dear friend forgot his external hard drive which he uses to store all the movies he downloaded from the office.
Now, these aren’t really unfortunate events and could occur in just any day. But I must say that yesterday was a lucky day for me. For starters, I was productive. I finished 10 articles due for the day while managing to chat and Plurk at the same time. Plus, a long time friend whom I haven’t spoken to in more than 2 months finally buzzed me in YM and we chatted for a while. All in all, I consider it a lucky day.

On a side note, I would like to share with you guys a new video site I discovered. Discvideos markets itself as video site for frisbee videos. I watched some videos because I was expecting to see some hot guys with bodies like Derek Ramsay (drool). That guy truly is becoming a great actor and an all around sports man, too. He competes in frisbee tournaments both locally and internationally. Angelica Panganiban is one lucky gal to have him as a boyfriend.
